Meister Cheese:

A name associated with superior cheeses and high-quality protein products for over 100 years.

The Beginning

In 1916, our grandfather, Joseph Meister, began making cheese in Southwestern Wisconsin.

50 years later, our father, Stanley Meister, moved the Meister Cheese Company to Muscoda, Wisconsin. Read more about Stanley’s visionary approach to converting “waste” into protein and lactose on our Kindred Creamery website.

In 1990, a third Meister generation moved into the leadership role of running the family business. They committed to elevating the Meister Cheese Company to a premier manufacturer of gourmet quality specialty cheeses. To get there, Meister Cheese relies on skilled, loyal, longtime cheesemakers working with advanced production technologies. Combining new approaches with Old World trades, we produce specialty cheeses in quantities that ensure reliable supply for our business partners.
